Notice of Race

 

  1. Organizing Authority: The Fairhope Yacht Club and the United States Sunfish Class Association (USSCA) will be the organizing authority.
  2. Special Note: The USSCA Junior North American Championship will be sailed in the month of July in one of the following regions: MidWest, New York, or MidAtlanctic.
  3. Rules: The race will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing and the International Sunfish Class Association (ISCA).
  4. Eligibility: The regatta is open to all boats of the Sunfish class as certified by the Class Measurer. Competitors must be members of USSCA or ISCA. Membership will be allowed at registration.
  5. Advertising: Advertising will be restricted to Category A.

                                                            iii.      Trophy Presentation As Soon As Possible after Racing.

  1. Courses/Races: Eleven (11) races are scheduled. Three (3) races on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Two (2) races on Sunday. Courses will be triangle or windward/leeward or any combination therein.
  2. Registration: Forms are available in The Windward Leg or at www.fairhopeyachtclub.com. Eligible boats may enter by completing the registration form and paying the required fees. Competitors may register in advance by June 1, 2007 by mailing in their registration form and check to the

  1. Fees:
    1. $130 for early registration. Registration must be postmarked by June 1, 2007 to receive the discount.
    2. $150 for registration.
    3. This fee will include dinner each night and regatta goodies.
  2. Liability: Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for any damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
  3. Measurement: The Chief Measurer and/or representative will be on hand to measure boats.
  4. Sailing Instructions: Sailing Instructions will be available at check-in.
  5. Scoring:  Three races shall constitute a regatta. A competitor’s worst race will be discarded if seven or more races are sailed.
  6. Trophies: Top Ten Championship Fleet, Top Ten Alcort Fleet, Top Five Junior, Top Midget,  Top Opposite Gender of the Winner, and Top Senior over 50. Additional prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the organizing authority.

  8. Lodging:
