The 50th Mt. Dora Annual Regatta was held on April 5-6.  Twenty-six Sunfish sailors competed in this event.  As always a good time was had by all.  It was a warm weekend with light winds ranging from 0-5 with one or two gusts to 6.
On Saturday the Sunfish sailors raced on course C with the Opti sailors and Laser sailors.  This was very eventful for us as well as, for the race committee.  Nearly 100 boats on this course proved to be difficult to manage as the Sunfish and Laser sailors were subsequently banished from course C on Sunday to sail with the "big boys" on course A.
After the races on Saturday, MDYC hosted an evening event of pre-dinner music and a couple of kegs of beer.  This was followed by a buffet style dinner.  Unfortunately, it was difficult to buy a space in line for dinner----the wait was too long for some of us hungry sailors.  So off to Eduardos (our favorite watering hole) we went.
Thanks to John Fletcher who paid our $833.02 bill at Eduardos, a nice dinner and many drinks were enjoyed by all.  When we first arrived at Eduardos there were 5 of us.  We asked for a table of 10 for the Sunfish sailors we knew wouldn't be far behind.  The original 5 (Rick Pantall, Ann Pantall, Paul, Mindy, Tony Elliott) decided that the last person to arrive would pay the bill.  Here comes John Kremski.  We filled John in and for quite some time he was the last to arrive.  John definitely was sweating this one out.  Was it the mexican food or the fact he knew he was going to be stuck paying?  To John's relief, others showed up--Eric Erickson, Bill Haberland, Ron McHenry, the Rowlands, etc.---there is one seat left.  Here comes John Fletcher, DFL.  Thanks again John for a wonderful dinner.
After the races on Sunday we waited for the results to be totaled.  We waited and waited and waited and waited.  There was a computer glitch that delayed the scoring.  So for complete, final, correct results, see below:
