(Thanks to Joe Sullivan)
From NYC and western Connecticut:
Take any bridge to Long Island and get on the Long Island Expressway going east.
Continue to the last exit and follow signs to Orient Point. About
one half mile past the circle where the hospital is -
three or four lights - turn left on Northville Turnpike.
Go approximately two miles to the end of the road and turn right on Sound
Ave, a winding two way country road, which will become Rte 48, a four lane
highway.
Continue several miles until the four lane road narrows to two lanes again. Turn right at the traffic light onto Horton's Lane.
* Go to the end of Horton's Lane, approx. 1/2 mile, and turn right onto Main Road (25). Make an immediate left onto Oaklawn Ave.
Continue past school and over bridge. Make first left onto Pine Neck Road. Go approx. 1/4 mile and turn right on North Bayview Rd. Go approx. 1/2 mile over bridge. SYC will be on your left.
Another version of how to go when the LIE ends:
Take County
Road 58 to Route 25 through Aqueboque, Jamesport, Laurel, Mattituck, Cutchogue,
and Peconic. At the Gulf Station before you enter Southold, turn right onto Main
Bayview Road and
make an
immediate left onto Pine Neck
Road. Go 0.8
miles
and turn right
onto North
Bayview Road. Take North
Bayview over
bridge and the
yacht club
is the
first building on the left.
