USSCA West Region

The 2010 West Region sailing season has officially kicked off with the Frostbite Regatta in Mission Bay, San Diego. Although the weather did not look promising on the morning of the regatta, the clouds eventually gave way to the sun. We had a good showing of nine boats despite strong winds and scattered showers. The spirits were high and the races close. The three top spots were taken by Les Piehl, Mike Waters, and Rick Ten Eyck of the Mission Bay Sunfish Fleet No. 632. All in all, it was a great day of sailing, and the chocolate-chip cookies baked by Anne made it even better. A big thank you goes to Anne Hinton who organized this event!
