Ft Myers Series: April 18^th

We had another great turn-out in April with ten boats racing.  We had easterly winds, about 12 knots with a few gusts, and an outgoing tide.  Sailing a little longer course than we have in the past, a (highly) modified olympic triangle, the outgoing tide made the left side of the course favored; and there were a lot of "no-wind" holes that seemed to give everyone trouble.  Each of the six races we got in took about fifteen minutes, with very tight finishes, first and last places only a couple minutes apart.  The day wrapped up with bar-b-qued chicken sandwiches and garlic-cheese toast on shore, thanks to Ross Webb and the Edison Sailing Center.
