| We
had six boats turn out for the July Sunday Sunfish races, with nice cool (for
summer) weather and a good breeze - ten to fifteen all day, out of the
northwest. We got in six races before running out of steam. First
race, Forrest Banks tried to prevent a jibe by using his head - literally -
at the downwind mark. Must have made him dizzy, since he capsized after
that, and again the next race before heading for shore. Claimed he was
OK, just had gotten all the exercise he cared to get for a weekend!!
After a few races to remember how to sail, Bob McElwain did a great job, with
four bullets to finish first overall, 2nd place to Jim Summers, and third to
Kevin Pierce. |
