Gulf Coast  Mission Statement & Goals

Promote Sunfish and One-design racing throughout the Gulf Coast Region.

The Gulf coast has a well established Circuit.  We as a group try to maintain a schedule so there is Sunfish event  almost every month of the year that is supported my our sailors.  

Clubs wanting to hold National, Regional or Circuit events are encouraged to the local or regional contacts on this site.  

1)       Promote the Establishment of local fleets and fleet championships.

        a.       Establish a local Contacts to coordinate events at host clubs with area reps  ( LA, MS, AL, FL ) & regional rep.

        b.      Perpetual trophy for Fleet Championship.    

          Wadewitz - Fleet Championship  ( Open Event )  

2)       Establish circuit events throughout the region run by local fleets.

a.       Yellow “hat” passed to circuit leader after each event.

b.     Perpetual trophy to Clubs host annual circuit event.

3)       Mentor other Sunfish sailors to regional, national & world events.

4)        Establish event between SouthWest ( Texas ) and Gulf Coast ( GYA ) region.

      5)      Bermuda Race Team        

      6)    Solicit new Host clubs to promote One-Design, Regional, Circuit and Worlds events.

       7)   Worlds fund raiser – Donations

             Requiements:

                a. Must qualify in GC circuit ( 4) events.

                b. Must attend two national events

     8)     Establish user group to send out notifications
