United States Sailing Team - USSCA Selection for 2018 Pan Am Games Test Sailing Event

The following rules apply for the selection of United States sailors planning on attending the 2018 Pan Am Games Test Sailing Event to be held in Paracas, Peru, August 18 – 25, 2018.  

1) The top two US finishers from the 2018 USSCA National Championship at Midwinters will qualify to represent the United States at the 2018 Pan-Am test Sailing event in Peru.  No alternates will be chosen if it becomes necessary to go below tenth place overall in the regatta.

2) If, for any reason, one or both of the berths from the 2018 USSCA National Championship at Midwinters are not filled by April 15th, 2018, either the top or top two US finishers from the 2017 ISCA World Championship will qualify to represent the United States at the 2018 Pan-Am test Sailing event in Peru.  Registration for these berths must be completed by May 15th , 2018.  No alternates will be chosen if it becomes necessary to go below twentieth place overall in the regatta.

Qualified sailors shall contact US Sailing Pan Am Games Representative Mr. Fred Hagedorn hagedornfh@cs.com to have their entry application processed. 

This is a restricted event open to competitors from Member National Authorities affiliated with National Olympic Committees recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the Pan-American Sports Organization (PASO).  The entry quota is two boats per National Authority, except that the host country may enter up to five boats per event.
