This year the Windycrest Sailing Club, located on Lake Keystone west of Sand Springs and Tulsa, OK will be hosting the championship. WSC has a great reputation for hosting North American, National and ladder events. Also the club has won the St. Petersburg Cup for regatta management.

Roger Williams Sailing Coach Amanda Callahan, back in a Sunfish for the first time this year, shook off some rust to win the final three races at the Northeast Challenge, but it wasn’t enough to beat the consistent Bill Brangiforte. With no throwout in 5 races, Brangiforte finished with 9 points to Callahan’s 10.

Bill Brangiforte narrowly beat out Scott Greenbaum (2nd) and Andy David (3rd) to take the 2011/2012 Frostbite series at Barrington (RI) Yacht Club. Brangiforte won both the spring and fall seasons to take the top overall spot.

We had an interesting series this year. While the fleet size was down a bit, we had really good racing, and personally, I think I learned more this year than ever before. I like to take things I read about or know that I need work on, and put them into play while frostbiting. Here are a few things I picked up this season and am looking forward to trying out this summer.

Jeffrey Olsen from Sarasota, Florida entered the final day of the regatta with a small lead. When competitors arrived at the sailing center on the final day, they faced a strong breeze. These are conditions where Olsen thrives. He went out and dominated the final day with consecutive race victories to secure the championship.
