19 boats converged on beautiful Canandaigua Lake for the Upstate Regional Championship August 12-13.

Moriches Yacht Club rolled out the red carpet to host the 2017 NY Downstate Sunfish Regionals. People started arriving early on Friday to set up tents and drop off their boats for what was going to prove to be a challenging and fun regatta.

The sailing race they call a nautical marathon ended with a sprint to the finish. Even in a race like The World’s Longest Sunfish Race, Around Shelter Island, NY, every second counts. That was made clear Saturday.

The summer racing season is in full swing with 3 East Coast Regionals, the North Americans and the Youth NAs all in the next two weeks!

There's just one week to go until the 53rd annual Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club Annual Regatta/Sunfish Regional. This year includes a free clinic on Friday by former North American Champ Bill Brangiforte, lots of great Cape Cod lake racing, and good food/fun ashore!

On Tuesday June 28th The Double Handed Fungatta kicked off the Official Summer Regatta Season at WPSA. At one point we had 13 boats with 28 different sailors on the waters directly off the bulkhead at Wet Pants.

The 2016 Sunfish Upstate New York Regional Championship will be held June 25-26 at the Rochester Canoe Club.
