Sometimes it's like heading cats...that is getting all the regatta information together and posted on the Class website. Long-time Sunfish sailor, Gail Turluck, has volunteered to step into the role of USSCA Regatta Coordinator and will work to bring all those stray cats into line. Pete Bethge, Commodore of Menantic Sunfish Fleet (Fleet # 168, Shelter Island NY) has just been awarded US Sailing’s National One-Design Award for Leadership recognizing individual initiative, enthusiasm, organizing ability and leadership in creating the one-design fleet building program of the year.

The Southeast Regional Championship #2 was held November 3 and 4, 2018 in Columbia, SC, in conjunction with the Columbia Sailing Club’s 58th Annual Midlands Regatta. This was a big, fun and lively event with over 100 sailors and 88 boats: 19 Sunfishes for the Regional, 19 Lasers, 27 Optimists, 15 Bic O’pens, nine Y-Flyers and nine Lightnings.
