USSCA North Americans - Young Adult Grant Application

FUNDING REQUEST GUIDELINES & APPLICATION

 

Purpose:

To encourage young adult sailors to participate in the 2026 USSCA North Americans in Barrington, Rhode Island and to encourage their participation in future events. 

 

Requirements: 

Must be a U.S. citizen aged 19 (will turn 19 in 2026) to 25 (will not turn 26 in 2026) 

Please submit your application by May 1 to give the Committee time to review the application and respond in a timely manner, and for the recipient to make plans to register and travel.

 

Conduct: 

A competitor’s actions, both on and off the water, must reflect well on the individual as well as the International Sunfish Class Association. Sportsmanlike actions, for example, include: (1) Be cooperative, supportive and respectful of other people and their property, (2) Sail within the Racing Rules of Sailing, and (3) Be gracious in victory or defeat.

 

Selection Process:

Financial help shall be awarded based on several factors including but not limited to: (1) Funds available, (2) Number of requests received. Notification of the status of a grant will be made within 10 days after May 1.
